**New contest!**
First I’d like to say that I’ve been accepted to Humber college in Toronto, so I’m happy about that.
Now onto my entry.
Once upon a time there was darkness. And then a God, or a Buddha perhaps, or something said something that was something like “let there be light”, and then there was. And then a few million years passed, and an Italian man was born, and a Newfound Lander girl, who ended up meeting at a shitty small town ball game, fell in love, and then I was made.
I got into Anime at a young age, so I’ve been going to Anime North (an anime convention held in Toronto) for about… I think this is my fourth year? ouo;;; Personally I think that’s a good number for someone who lives five or six hours from the place. 8///D;
*Important!*
By the way, Anime North in two months, so when I’m there I’m hoping to get some nifty prizes for upcoming contests. Does anyone have any suggestions of what they’d be interested in, when it comes to anime goods? (Plushies, stickers, notebooks, pins?) And more importantly, what kind of Anime, too. *//u//*;!
*Important is gone.*
My passed few days have been quite uneventful, so I thought I’d talk about Anime North and my past experiences with the place.
Personally, I think they’re quite interesting stories-? +u+;;;? (I get into bad luck with befriending the males, more than anything really. ;;;
During a J-pop dance that was going on, I spent a lot of the time laying on the floor of the dance (er, I’m not sure while), but it was kind of funny, because I had a few people take my pictures, and I was also asked if I was drunk. D__D;;; Cough.
And then, out of the killing atmosphere of the eardrum-crunching, bass-lead Anime tunes, a small uke-boy made his way over to me.
Blissful, sparkling silence-!! /////;!
He asked me, “why aren’t you dancing?“
“Oh, I’m too embarrassed to.” I told him; something like that.
He replied, “oh, that’s too bad. Well, I’ll be back in a little bit, and I promise you - I’ll get you to dance.“
So I waited for about fifteen minutes or so, until he trotted back to my side. I blushed like a school girl, and hoped that he would take my hands and whisk me away into a sparkling Anime wonderland.
Then he said to me, “I brought a friend who said he’d like to dance with you.“
Is it a another Asian hotty? Is this one your seme, uke-boy? =////= I contemplated in bliss.
And just after I thought this one thought, my dreams shattered, and out from behind him creeped a lanky, balding character with golden teeth and a wrinkled face, smiled at me and asked me to dance. ………;;;;;
I didn’t know what to say, until the uke boy pushed me out onto the dance floor with him, and the lanky character said to me in a shrill voice, “just move to the beat“.
QAQ;……….
And I’ll explain why it felt creepy and wrong and gross and everything in between: I was only fifteen at the time,and he told me he was TWENTY-FIVE. D___D;;; S-so, no, it wasn’t very comfortable. ;;;;;
In 2007, I had another bump-in with some fairly attractive males. /////; (And how it tumbled to the ground, was ALL MY FAULT. =A=;;; *Regret regret regret regret*….;;;
After the Saturday night, Ichi and I (Ichi came with me in 2007, but not 2006) returned to our hotel room and I ended up drinking quite a little bit. Around this time I was pretty much a lightweight and a new drinker, so… erm, I guess I could say I was an… immature drunk? =__=; …
We decided to go to the J-pop dance after my little booze sips, (bad idea +_+;…) and on our way out of the hotel, we were stopped by some (very attractive!! ;___;!!!) Asian gothic-lolita cosplayers. Males, I mean. Two of them. One for both me and Ich-*shot*
…..;;;
They asked us if we could photocopy our registration badges to get into the J-pop dance themselves, because they lost their copies. Although Ichi seemed like he didn’t really want to, (and despite they were hot Asians, neither did I) we did it anyway.
How? ;;;
We actually ended up sneaking into their hotel office/lobby/whatever it was to photocopy the badges. I remember while we were sitting in the office, I couldn’t really sit still, or stand straight, and I was pretty much only drunkily fixated on the attractiveness of those frickin’ Asian boys. //////;
I thought I was being stealth though, while I was admiring them and all, but then I noticed myself sitting against a wall in the office, half awake, and they asked Ichi with ashamed looked on their faces, “uh, is she going to be okay? ;;;“
I WAS SO FRICKIN’ EMBARRAAASSSSSSSEDDDD. QAQ;;;; (But it’s my own fault! ;;
Although, here’s the entirely ironic part of the story: the photocopier was being an arsehole, so they never got their copies. So, we walked to the J-pop dance, and were going on inside, until a lady stopped us and asked for a ticket. We had our badges, buy no dance ticket, so we weren’t allowed in.
Here’s the funny thing.
As we turned to leave, the two Asians walked passed us, and the lady called to them, “hey, do you have your ticket?” Unfortunately for them, they had neither a ticket or a con badge. But, fortunately, they were snarky.
The guys didn’t even turn an inch around, and said, “I’ve got my ticket alright? God, just leave us alone,” and kept walking.
The lady turned to us and said, “oh, kids these days, they really have no respect.“
….W-we almost died. D___D;
And, I have one tiny, and stupid story of the Canadian National Anime Expo of 2007. (Which sucked, btw.)
I bought a figurine at some booth, it was handed to me in a bag which they stapled using a “staple-free stapler“. Because the girl had a very thick Chinese accent, when she gave me the stapler to look at it and told me it was a “staple-free stapler”, I thought she said it was a “free stapler”. And I walked like all the way to some other booths until she ran after me to stop me lololol. x__x;;;;
And here’s a few more little brag bits I’d like to share (and really, I only have so many).
In 2006, was my second year in their “J-Idol” competition, and I was chosen out of 120 people to be in the first round of 20 people or so. ;o__o; And this is something I just realized recently (I’m slow =__=;), but I noticed that I performed on the same stage KOTOKO did. I’m overwhelmed that I can say that. ;o;
KOTOKO played there that evening though, so, she kind of performed after me, so it’s not the same… D___D;
I even ended up crying when she sang “Suppuration” at her concert. (One of my favorite songs hands down, by any artist, ever.) She is incredible live, and sounds exactly like her songs, even while jumping around the stage! ;//o//; *Nod*
And unfortunately, I did not get an Artist’s Alley table again this year at Anime North. (They sold out in what, thirty seconds? T__T ![]()
This year, I think I’ll be cosplaying as Puchiko. I’m even on a stern diet for the matter-! +___+;!! (I’m always on a stern diet, apparently - except I never follow them. ;;; ![]()
B-but, no, really, this time I’m serious-!! ;;; My mother started Weight Watchers about half a year ago, and she’s lost 30-40 pounds, so I’m going to try it too. ;;; I’m even counting my points and everything… XD;
Currently I weigh 135 pounds (ohh, I gainnnedddd!! T////T;;;), hopefully I can lose a little by the end of the month! *Is serious about this! +__+!!!
I’ll update my weight every entry. Fufufufu! >D;;;;
Oh, and Ian’s doing his second play tomorrow (it’s called “The Insanity of Mary Girard“) so maybe I’ll take some clips or something rather. 8///D I hope the show will go well. <3
And, I’m starting over my cover for Ketten because I didn’t like the other one. I like this one a lot better. It’s just a sketch right now, though. <3 ;;;;
Anyway, that’s all I have to say this entry. Hope everyone enjoys their day~! <3

Hi there, my name is Ocean and welcome to my mp3 rotation site/blog. People really just come here for the music I put up, (mainly Asian pop & rock, but sometimes English, instrumentals, and different languages ranging from African to Norwegian) but alongside my uploads, every day I also post a blog entry.
